A cardiologist with over 20 years of experience, Giulio Melisurgo serves as Group Medical Director of A-Life, where he defines and leads the Group’s clinical strategy, coordinates the medical team, and ensures the appropriateness of therapeutic pathways.
Before joining A-Life, Dr. Melisurgo was Head of the Private Patients (Solventi) Department at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, where he managed patients with cardiovascular conditions as well as complex, multisystem cases, applying an integrated approach extending across the entire spectrum of internal medicine.
Previously, for over ten years, he was a Consultant Physician (Dirigente Medico) at the Cardio-Thoracic-Vascular Intensive Care Unit of the same Institute, focusing primarily on the treatment of cardiogenic shock using advanced mechanical circulatory support systems (IABP, Impella, ECMO) and on the management of advanced heart failure with ventricular assist devices (LVAD).
In addition to his hospital work, he provided specialist cardiology consultancy at the La Madonnina Clinic in Milan and worked in sports cardiology for A.C. Milan and the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI).
The experience gained in managing critically ill and complex patients now translates into a rigorous, evidence-based, and highly personalized approach to preventive medicine and longevity.
